Emmnanuel's Visit Day One.

Today I took Emmanuel to see the sunset. While the sunset was happening we walked down Stearns Wharf. In the morning we woke up and my dad made my favorite homemade waffles. Then he came and checked out my school and went to classes with me. His favorite was either social studies or spanish. After school we went to backyard bowls and shared my favorite snack. He thought it was different but good. Then we went home and I did my homework and played video games with my brother. They had such a great time they were laughing and yelling at the TV. Then my family and Emmanuel went to Longboards and had a wonderful dinner and ate the peanuts they have there. Then we walked down the pier at sunset to go get ice cream! I think Emmanuel is really enjoying Santa Barbara. I really hope he is!

1: Stearns Wharf sunset-beautiful...I'll take warm syrup...peanuts on the floor above the ocean-great idea.
2: Sky High-I can see him smile...ice skating difficult...I like how you considered him being a guy on your trip to The Oaks...good links
3: Happyness...togetherness...memories of his schooling-I like that...Lotusland...and I love the vision of you and Emmanuel around the fire doing homework...the photo makes me think
4: love the gooey chocolate croissant-I like em warm...soccer practice...sweaty feast at Los Arroyos (what did you suggest?) and dessert before bed
5:waking to waves...laughter... I really like the song you chose. Have to admit it surprised me. I like the emotion of it. Played it all the way through...fun islands day...baby dolphins...jumping off the boat...I bet he was tired
6: I really like this day...having him spend time with just your mom...just your dad...and meeting your coach...I still suggest you surprise Vince at a completely unexpected quiet time with a hug and a thanks-he will never forget it...sounds like he deserves it
7: a giant day...great photos...great places...interesting links-I lived in San Francisco and had no idea about McClaren Park-maybe we should add it to the Treasure Hunt
8: Stunning photos...SHAKABRA!...Love the fun of the ball, the surf, and the snow. I can hear the laughter in the snowball fight...good times don't always last forever-a haunting line
9:...this is my goosebumps and tear one... what you got out of his visit...determination...smile from a ball of light...concern for others...they>I...whoa.

Sorry this got delayed, and I am going to copy it this time. Like I said yesterday, your blog really moved me with its sincerity, your insights, and most of all the you I got to know through the voice you so carefully share down each entry. A voice sometimes soft, sometimes giggly, sometimes intense. A voice always filled with care, concern and wonder at how Emmanuel would feel. Keep sharing that voice, Alea. It made two cups of coffee and two before sunrises inspiring to me. Good luck with those braces today.
